Spruce Creek Forge

Spruce Creek Forge is the home of artist and outdoorsman Bill Scimio of Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania. A craftsman of many talents, Bill works in multiple disciplines and media.

His metal sculptures run from the realistic to the whimsical—from an intricately rendered deer antler shed made of steel to a folk-art elk made from a railroad spike.

His knives, made in the primitive style, are all hand-forged and heat-treated on the premises. Various materials are used for the handles, including curly maple, deer antler, leg bone, and osage.

His drawings are done primarily in colored pencil and depict treasures of the natural world.

Always nearby is his wife April, who acts as his muse and an extra set of hands, plus two black Labrador retrievers and a black cat who lend moral support and keep the place free from axe-murderers, bears, and other vermin.

”When I April and I were in Maine running bird dogs we hoped to find a moose shed (hadn’t yet). This steel moose shed can keep you company at your desk, coffee table, or fireplace mantel.”
